Ranieri named new Fulham boss after Jokanovic sacking

Claudio Ranieri has been confirmed as the new Fulham manager, replacing the sacked Slavisa Jokanovic.

The Italian coach was appointed on a multi-year contract by chairman Shahid Khan on Wednesday, as the Craven Cottage side look to pull themselves out of last place in the Premier League.

And the dismissal of Jokanovic has been announced, with former Leicester, Inter and Chelsea boss Ranieri returning to the English top flight.

"It is an honour to accept Mr. Khan’s invitation and opportunity to lead Fulham, a fantastic club with tradition and history,” Ranieri told the club's website.

"The objective at Fulham should never be to merely survive in the Premier League.
