INDIANAPOLIS -- Six days ago, Zaire Franklin got a text which predicted the future.
Preparing for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the premonition came from special team’s coordinator Bubba Ventrone. The message itself contained two simple sentences: “Z, you’re going to get a block this week. I’m calling it now.”
“I had to prove him right,” Franklin said.
Facing the struggling Jaguars with a chance to move back to .500 on the season, the Indianapolis Colts seemed in line for a straightforward win. A stout Jacksonville defense had other plans though, and with its offense struggling, Indianapolis had to turn to its special teams for some points.
