The Indianapolis Colts have signed tight end Chase Coffman, which further indicates Dwayne Allen will miss some time with an ankle injury.
Allen injured his ankle in the first half of last Sunday's game at Houston. Allen is no stranger to dealing with injuries, having missed 21 games since he entered the NFL in 2012. He has 18 receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns this season.
Coffman, who was released by the Colts on Sept. 4, will join tight ends Jack Doyle and Erik Swoope, a former college basketball player.
