INDIANAPOLIS — With depth charts and salary cap figures and free agent lists scattered on the walls around him, resembling some sort of football graffiti, Chris Ballard sinks into his chair, the one positioned squarely in the middle of the Indianapolis Colts’ draft room, and digs in.
“We live in here,” he says.
Across the following two hours, the Colts’ third-year general manager pours through the tape – pro days, combine workouts, the Senior Bowl, college highlights, offering a rare and often unfiltered lens into his staff’s evaluations of the franchise’s 2019 draft class.
