INDIANAPOLIS — The tools are all there.
Ben Banogu has quickness. An explosive first step. The lean and bend an edge rusher needs to get around the corner. More power than the average speed-rusher.
The Colts’ second-year pass rusher just needs to put it all together more often.
“There’s some times I really like what he does,” new Indianapolis defensive line coach Brian Baker said. “And there’s some other times I don’t like what he’s doing.”
Banogu, a second-round pick a year ago, is running fourth on the Colts’ depth chart at defensive end, trailing Justin Houston, Denico Autry and Al-Quadin Muhammad.
