The Colts’ organization decided to reward the best player in franchise history with a statue in front of Lucas Oil Stadium this season. Manning’s statue was unveiled in a ceremony on October 7th, and it was one of the only good memories of a disappointing 2017 season.
The Colts did pick up one of their few wins in Manning’s honor with a 26-23 overtime victory over the 49ers the day after the statue unveiling ceremony. The 14-time Pro Bowl quarterback decided to go out on his own to meet Colts fans near his statue before that game, and NFL Films was there to cover it all.
