Speed isn't David Bell's game, but 'I personally think I'm one of the best receivers in this draft.'

INDIANAPOLIS - David Bell stepped onto the turf at the Farm Bureau Football Center in a Purdue pullover. He was here at a local pro day to meet with and talk to members of the Colts as the hometown team for a kid who starred at Warren Central High School and then at Purdue.

He was not here to work out.

That part of his pre-draft equation is done, for better or for worse. It's been a mixed bag this offseason for Bell. The reigning Big Ten Conference receiver of the year didn't have to prove he could run smooth and nuanced routes and catch the ball with consistency and grace, but he did it anyway in on-field drills at the NFL combine in February, also in Indianapolis.
