Per multiple reports Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has assured Chuck Pagano he will return as head coach in 2017.
According to a team official, the Colts are not planning any news conferences at this point. Since Pagano is under contract, they are not required to. Sporting News and ESPN have reported the news citing sources.
The news comes four days after Pagano met with the media to wrap up the disappointing 2016 season, one in which his team finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs for the second consecutive year, something that hasn't happened for this franchise in nearly two decades.
