Jim Irsay: Colts aren’t pinching pennies; they’re staying patient, being prudent

Two days of legal tampering and two days of free agency have (nearly) come and gone, and the Indianapolis Colts have not added a single outside free agent. Indeed, all they’ve done is re-sign running back Marlon Mack to a modest $2 million deal while extending tenders to their key restricted free agents (second-rounders for wide receiver Zach Pascal and tight end Mo Alie-Cox, and a right of first refusal tender for special teams star George Odum).

That’s it. With a bit less than $40 million in 2021 cap space, those moves sum up the totality of the Colts activity through the first four days of free agent week in the NFL.
