Insider: What the Colts want in a quarterback

INDIANAPOLIS — Chris Ballard set the bar a couple of weeks ago.

Placed it very high, so high that it’s going to be awfully hard to jump over.

For the first time since 2012, the Colts could use a draft pick on a quarterback, the product of Andrew Luck’s shocking retirement, Jacoby Brissett’s uneven audition as a starter and a second-half swoon that left Indianapolis at 7-9 and holding the No. 13 pick in April’s draft.

But for Ballard to turn the card in with a quarterback’s name on it, that player is going to have to clear the bar.
