Insider: What if Andrew Luck hadn't retired?

INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts will be back in Lucas Oil Stadium on Monday.

One year, to the day, after the fateful preseason game Indianapolis played against the Chicago Bears. For all intents and purposes, the product on the field that night was typical preseason fare, played mostly between backups, but the game will be remembered for the news that broke in the second half.

Andrew Luck’s retirement.

A monumental decision. A seminal moment in franchise history. An earth-shattering moment in the sports world.

But these days, as the Colts spend most of their days preparing away from the public eye at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center, Luck’s decision feels far in the past, as if it happened so much more than a year ago.
