Insider: Can Spence help stabilize Colts' shaky LB unit?

INDIANAPOLIS – That the Indianapolis Colts need help at inside linebacker hardly qualifies as news. But you know what else they could use?

Stability.

From Jerrell Freeman to Nate Irving to Sio Moore to D’Qwell Jackson to Edwin Jackson to Antonio Morrison, the position has been a revolving door of bodies over the past year-plus.

No one is promising that Sean Spence can be the answer to the problem. But he’ll at least have a shot at being part of the remedy.

The free agent on Sunday agreed to a one-year contract with the Colts that suggests he’ll be more of stopgap than a solution.
