INDIANAPOLIS – Melissa Rice goes back to the Hoosier Dome days, when losses came often and seats came cheap and the running joke around town was that C-O-L-T-S was short for Count on losing this Sunday.
Back then, local musician Duke Tumatoe’s somber blues ballad, the one he’d regularly croon on “The Bob & Tom Show,” summed it up thusly: “Lord help our Colts.”
Rice is a football mom raised in a football family – when she was young, dad would haul the kids all the way out to Baltimore so they could watch the Colts slog through training camp.
