If and when the Indianapolis Colts are on the clock with the 21st pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, do not expect the name announced by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to belong to a quarterback.
Asked point blank during his 70-minute end-of-season news conference Thursday if he thinks there will be a signal-caller worthy of that draft pick when the Colts are selecting, Colts GM Chris Ballard answered succinctly, "I doubt it." The GM went on to say that there are good quarterbacks in this year's draft, but not so many of them that one will still be available that deep into the first round.
