Frank Reich doesn't regret decision to go for it on fourth-and-1, but he regrets the play call

INDIANAPOLIS — Frank Reich has zero regrets about going for it on fourth-and-1 at Houston’s 5-yard line with 6:50 left in a game the Colts led 24-20.

Under Reich, Indianapolis has made going for it on fourth down part of its identity, and the analytics at Reich’s disposal clearly said it was better to go for the first down than simply kicking a field goal.

And Reich was weighing the presence of Deshaun Watson, the red-hot Houston quarterback on the other sideline.

“For us, that was a clear go,” Reich said. “It wasn’t even close. Very confident that was the right decision for us even though we didn’t make it.
