After taking a chance to get acclimated to his new position in Indianapolis, Frank Reich has gone to work with Chris Ballard and Jim Irsay to fill out the rest of his coaching staff. Today, three different coaches joined the team with a focus on defense and special teams.
Defensive backs coach Alan Williams returns to Indianapolis from Detroit. He previously spent time with the Colts in the 4-3 defensive scheme from 2002-2011. He earned an opportunity to lead the Minnesota Vikings as defensive coordinator from 2012-2013 before making his way to Motown. This has to be considered a very strong hire for a coaching with nearly two decades of experience coaching defensive backs.
