Former Colts coach Ted Marchibroda dies

The Colts announced Saturday that former coach Ted Marchibroda has passed away. He was 84.

Marchibroda led the Colts when the franchise was in Baltimore from 1975-79. He was again head coach from 1992-95, leading Indianapolis to the 1995 AFC Championship game, in which the Colts lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers after a last-second Hail Mary from quarterback Jim Harbaugh was incomplete to wide receiver Aaron Bailey in the end zone.

Marchibroda's NFL coaching career began in 1961 with Washington. His first head coaching job was in 1975 with the Baltimore Colts. After coaching the Indianapolis Colts he coached the Baltimore Ravens from 1996-98.
