Credentials, not connections, land Strausser with Colts

Chris Strausser isn’t the kind of coach who is always chasing the next job.

In fact, one of the first things the Indianapolis Colts’ new offensive line coach said to coach Frank Reich during the hiring process was, “I’m not gonna lobby for the job. I’m not gonna have 20 guys call [on my behalf].”

No, Strausser prefers to have his resume speak for him.

That includes 30 years on the job, coaching everything from wide receivers to special teams but specializing in the offensive line. Most notably, he spent seven seasons on Chris Petersen’s staff at Boise State and another three under Petersen at the University of Washington before breaking into the NFL with the Broncos in 2017.
