Colts' Robert Mathis respects Indiana Fever for kneeling during anthem

INDIANAPOLIS -- Colts running back Frank Gore said the direction that society in this country is headed is “scary.”

“It’s tough,” he said. “You’re seeing what’s happening to the people in the streets. Getting shot for not doing anything at all. It can be anybody.”

Gore was referring to the recent controversial police shootings of black men in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Charlotte, North Carolina.

Many of the Colts noticed how the WNBA’s Indiana Fever took a stand by all taking a knee during the national anthem prior to their playoff game against the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday.
