Colts to interview Jim Schwartz, known for his aggressive scheme, for defensive coordinator

INDIANAPOLIS—The Colts will interview former Lions head coach and long-time defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz for their open defensive coordinator position.

Schwartz is the third known candidate for the coordinator job left open when Matt Eberflus was hired to be the head coach in Chicago.

Indianapolis interviewed Jacksonville defensive coordinator Joe Cullen and Washington defensive backs coach Chris Harris this weekend.

Schwartz, 55, is the most experienced candidate so far, a former head coach with Detroit and a three-time defensive coordinator in Tennessee, Buffalo and Philadelphia who spent the 2021 season as a senior defensive assistant on Mike Vrabel’s staff in Tennessee.
