Colts owner Charlie Irsay-Gordon played major role in blockbuster trade

The Indianapolis Colts' offense has been on a roll throughout the 2025 season, but the defense needed a little bit of help. As the trade deadline approached, Colts fans let out a collective sigh as no trades went through. However, the new Colts' Owner, Charlie Irsay-Gordon, had different plans.

Throughout the tenure of Chris Ballard, a big criticism of his operation of the team has always been his lack of big moves in free agency and in the trade market. Outside of DeForest Buckner, the Colts have largely avoided major trades for positions of need. This year, sitting at 6-1 and placing their best corner on IR, the Colts reached out to a struggling team looking to rebuild.
