Colts left tackle Anthony Castonzo returns to practice

INDIANAPOLIS — A perilously thin Colts tackle situation got a welcome sight on Thursday.

Anthony Castonzo on the practice field.

Castonzo, the starter who suffered an MCL sprain against Tennessee two weeks ago and missed the Colts’ win over the Raiders, has been put in charge of his own recovery timetable.

An MCL sprain typically takes three to six weeks to heal, but Castonzo’s return to the practice field is a sign that he might be back sooner than that, potentially even this week against the Raiders.

The Colts lost Castonzo’s backup, Le’Raven Clark, on Sunday to a torn Achilles, and third-string tackle Chaz Green gave up two sacks.
