Colts haven't ruled out Carson Wentz starting in season opener against Seahawks

INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts have not announced yet that Carson Wentz will be the team’s starting quarterback in the Sept. 12 season opener against the Seattle Seahawks.

But neither head coach Frank Reich nor general manager Chris Ballard has ruled it out.

Wentz is currently on the reserve/COVID-19 list, reportedly as a close contact to a team staffer, and if that’s true, the Colts' starting quarterback will likely be able to return to the facility in the next couple of days and resume his preparation for the season.

“He’s making really good progress,” Colts general manager Chris Ballard said.
