WESTFIELD—Colts head coach Frank Reich has tested positive for COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated, general manager Chris Ballard said Monday.
Reich has no symptoms, and Ballard believes that’s an indicator that the vaccine works, despite the breakthrough infection. Reich tested positive late last week and is not expected to be able to return until Aug. 2, according to Ballard.
There is no timeline on when Reich will be back.
“I’m excited for training camp, however I’m disappointed I won’t be there with the team as we start," Reich said in a statement. "I’m fortunate to be fully vaccinated, and I’m asymptomatic.
