Colts blow out hapless Jets behind defense, 36-7

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts took on an inferior opponent Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium and did exactly what they were supposed to do: Blew it out. The Colts routed the hapless and injury-riddled New York Jets 36-7 in a game that was never in doubt.

There were aspects of Sunday's game where the Colts could have played better, sure, but they took the lead on the third play of the game and never trailed at any point after.

Veteran cornerback Xavier Rhodes put the Colts on the board first by intercepting a Sam Darnold pass and returning it 44 yards for a touchdown.
