The Colts placed starting quarterback Anthony Richardson on injured reserve Wednesday, sidelining him for at least the next four games.
Richardson is expected to miss four to eight weeks, depending on his rehab and whether or not he still would need surgery on his right shoulder, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday.
Richardson, who has a sprained AC joint in his right throwing shoulder, had previously been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Coach Shane Steichen, however, said on Monday the team was still conducting medical evaluations and a final timeline had not been established.
