Colts 2020 position-by-position: Cornerback is defense's biggest concern

INDIANAPOLIS — There was reason for optimism at the Colts cornerback position as the 2019 season opened.

Kenny Moore, Pierre Desir and Quincy Wilson were all back in the fold, ready to pick up where they left off in the Colts’ mad rush to the playoffs in 2018. Indianapolis used its top pick on a cornerback, Rock Ya-Sin. Veterans who’d played significant snaps in the NFL in the past, Nate Hairston and Jalen Collins, were competing for roster spots.

Few of those cornerbacks panned out the way the Colts thought they would. Brilliant as always when he was healthy, Moore battled injuries and missed five games, leaving Indianapolis without its playmaker at one of the defense’s most important positions.
