Colts Rumors: 3 Breakout Players To Watch For In 2015

The Indianapolis Colts had a great season, but lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. Indy is a team on the rise with Andrew Luck under center, but they still need some pieces to step up in order to become legitimate championship contenders. Here are three players capable of having breakout seasons for the Colts in 2015:

OLB Jonathan Newsome

Newsome recorded 6.5 sacks last season as a rookie, with most of his production coming later in the season. The light switch seemed to come on for him late in the year, and with a full offseason to prepare, he could easily double his sack total in 2015.

WR Duron Carter

T.Y. Hilton and Andre Johnson have the starting spots locked up, but Carter has the potential to step in and have a big impact from the slot. He became a star in the Canadian Football League during the past two seasons because of his soft hands, crisp route-running, and ability to find soft spots in a defense. Opposing defenses will focus mostly on Hilton and Johnson, which should give Carter a ton of room to operate.

LB Andrew Jackson

Jackson went from practice squad player to key special teams contributor to rotational linebacker in his rookie season, and he should be given more chances on the field his season. If he can continue his rapid rise, he could become of the Indianapolis' key defensive players.
