CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Indiana State stranded 17 runners on base in the midweek finale Wednesday evening at Hennon Stadium as the team dropped its first contest of 2019 to Western Carolina, 10-9.

The Sycamores (7-1) loaded the bases in the ninth inning but a strikeout of Spencer Wiskus ended the rally and ISU's seven-game winning streak to open the season. In total, ISU left the bases loaded three times on the night, including twice of the first five innings.

Indiana State left five runners on base in the final two frames and finished the game just 1-for-8 with the bases loaded, 4-of-22 with runners on base and 1-for-12 with two outs.
