CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Indiana State walked eight batters, hit three and committed five fielding errors in a series opening 15-8 loss to Austin Peay Friday afternoon at Raymond C. Hand Park.

The Sycamores (5-4) scored two runs in the first inning and retired the first three batters in the APSU order, but the Governors (7-2) scored seven runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back. Austin Peay would add runs in the fourth, sixth and eighth innings en route to the victory.

Indiana State made things interesting in the ninth, scoring five runs on APSU's Ethan Clark in his collegiate debut before the Govs went to the bullpen for another reliever to close out the contest.
