CLEARWATER, Fla. – Indiana State held on in a close game against Mount St. Mary's (5-4) before falling in extra innings in a high-scoring affair against Providence (15-11, 8 innings) on ISU's second day at USF's Under Armour Showcase.
Solid pitching led the way in the opener against Mount St. Mary's with putting in a quality start for her eighth victory, and freshman coming on to shut it down late for the second straight day for her second career save.
"I think we came out with good energy," said ISU head coach . "We knew what we needed to accomplish and focused more on what we need to do on a daily basis to succeed.
