MADISON, Wis.– Indiana State men’s and women’s cross country had spectacular days to close the 2016 season by impressively defying expectations at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon.
The Sycamore men had a superb day, jumping from their pre-championship regional ranking of 15th to ninth after placing four in the top-60.
“We came into the regional ranked 15th and beat some very solid programs,” said ISU men’s head coach John McNichols. “We got better throughout the season and had our best meet of the season today with our two seniors having a good day and a tight pack with only a 29-second spread from first to fourth.
