CHICAGO – The Indiana State Sycamores defeated the Cougars of Chicago State today (Sept. 24) by a score of 6-2.
The Sycamores came out slow to start the match on what proved to be a sweltering day in Chicago, Ill. Indiana State could not find a rhythm to their play and found themselves on their heels multiple times as the Cougars threw players forward into attack.
In the 26th minute of play Chicago State found themselves on a breakaway down the left flank. Jensyn Stanberry ripped a shot which narrowly escaped the hands of goalkeeper Brianna Riscossa giving Chicago State the early 1-0 lead.
