TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – In an effort to overcome the challenging financial impact of COVID-19, Sycamore Athletics has launched the Step Up Initiative to help the department offset extra costs caused by the pandemic.
The department has reduced expenditures and has left several positions vacant throughout the pandemic. Despite these cost-cutting measures, the shortfall will still be significant. To return to competition, the NCAA has provided guidelines and safety standards in order to properly protect our student-athletes, coaches and community at large.
"The Step Up Initiative is vital for our department. The loss of guarantee games, ticket revenue and sponsorship dollars could be felt for years to come," said Director of Athletics Sherard Clinkscales.
