Terre Haute, Ind.—Senior Gaelen Stejbach has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week after her impressive performance against Western Illinois.
In the home opener of the 2016 season ISU took on the Western Illinois Leathernecks. Stejbach recorded a total of two shots during the match and both resulted in goals. In the 24th minute senior midfielder Maddie Orf fed Stejbach the ball who shot from 30 yards out placing it just above the keeper’s hands and into the net. Her second goal came late in the second half when freshman Caitlin Glascott sent a long cross into the box where Stejbach received it and passed the ball into the net from 15 yards away.
