CHICAGO -- Indiana State freshman Sophie Benetti fired an opening round 73 and the Sycamores currently stand in third place after the first round of the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship. The event, hosted by Loyola, is being held at the par-72, 5,977-yard layout at the Harborside International Golf Center (Port Course).
"We are off to a great start," head coach Greg Towne said. "The freshmen played as if they had done it before. We have 5 players that are in it and a lot of teams don't.
