PEORIA, Ill. – Saturday was quite a day of earned accolades for Shaye Barton. Not only did the Sycamore third baseman receive her Bachelor's degree from Indiana State University, she was named to the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference All-Tournament Team.
The academic achievement comes after four years of dedicated work in the class room. The athletic achievement is bestowed upon Barton after dominating offensively over three games at the MVC Tournament this week, hitting .636 (7-for-11) with seven RBI and six runs scored.
