Schnaiter (2-0) did not allow a walk and retired 15 consecutive batters before a double by Alyssa Rose in the sixth inning gave Cleveland State (1-4) its only runner of the game.
Indiana State (6-2) put runners on base in every inning but it took until the fourth inning before the Sycamores would get a run across to break open the scoreless tie.
