BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – You could say it was Gabbi Schnaiter's day. Not only did she toss a complete game shutout of Butler in a 5-0 win for Indiana State, she was named the Missouri Valley Conference's Newcomer of the Week for her last outing, also a complete game shutout.
The honor was announced in the middle of the fifth inning as Schnaiter (3-0) faced bases with just one out. Then she showed why the league was recognizing her as she forced an infield fly then struck out the final batter of the threat.
