CARBONDALE, Ill. – Indiana State Baseball’s five-game winning streak was snapped this evening, as they dropped the MVC opener to Southern Illinois (19-11-1, 1-0 MVC), 7-6. The Sycamores (19-12, 0-1 MVC) took an early 4-0 lead as they hit for a game-high three home runs, but gave up a total of 52 bases throughout the game, tallying 11 walks and two hit by pitches.
Indiana State jumped out to a hot start, scoring two in the top of the first on a two-run home run from the bat of senior Kaden Moore, his second of the season.
