TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State senior and All-American distance runner John Mascari will miss the 2016 track season due to the return of the same back injury that prematurely ended his 2015 track season.
As reported elsewhere, Mascari – a Terre Haute native and ISU’s first-ever four-time national cross country qualifier – announced on social media last night his intention to undergo surgery to repair a fractured vertebra that forced him out of the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships, despite breaking the all-time MVC 10K record during the year.
