ST. LOUIS – Capping off a notable first weekend of collegiate play in her career, Indiana State setter Makayla Knoblauch was named the Missouri Valley Conference's Freshman of the Week.
Knoblauch (pronounced: kuh-KNOB-LOW) tallied 129 assists and 10.75 assists per set as she helped lead the Sycamores to a runner-up finish at the Purdue Fort Wayne Invitational last weekend. Both marks ranked second in the Valley among all players.
A native of Leo, Indiana, Knoblauch guided ISU to a 2-1 mark while hitting .364 with 10 kills to her credit. She also added 25 digs, five total blocks and two aces in a well-rounded effort.
