CHICAGO—On a day that started with a three hour wind delay at an indoor dome, the Indiana State Softball team rallied late earn a 3-2 victory in eight innings over the University of Illinois Chicago, in their 2016 season opener.
The Sycamores had baserunners early in the game as junior Kassie Brown reached on a bunt single and got to third on a single by freshman Shaye Barton. The Sycamores couldn't push any runs across, however.
Defense prevailed throughout the early part of the game as neither team had a hit leave the infield until the top of the fourth inning.
