CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – A five-run inning from the Fighting Illini was too much to overcome as the Indiana State baseball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end Friday night in Champaign, falling to Illinois, 6-4.
The Sycamores (12-10) held an early 2-0 lead thanks to an RBI double from Tony Rosselli who continued his hot-hitting, finishing just a home run away from the cycle. The Trees also added a run on a throwing error on a stolen bases, allowing Dominic Bifano to trot home from third.
The Illini (7-16) snapped their four-game skid thanks in part to a five-run fourth inning.
