NORMAL, Ill. -- Katie Wells scored late for the Sycamores as she pushed in her 10th goal of the season to tie an Indiana State school record for goals in a season and set a new single-season point standard. ISU fell to Illinois State 3-1 on Wednesday night (Oct. 17).
The Sycamores fell to 6-7-3, 0-4-1 MVC while Illinois State improved to 8-7-2, 3-2 MVC. Illinois State has won all 13 meetings in the all-time series at home against Indiana State.
In the 81st minute, Katie Wells took a free kick and put the ball into the bottom right corner of the net to get ISU within 3-1 of the Redbirds.
