ST. LOUIS – Familiar faces will meet again in the Quad Cities as Indiana State, the No. 5 seed, will face Southern Illinois in the quarterfinal round of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. The pairings became official Saturday when the league office announced the final bracket.
Indiana State and Southern Illinois's matchup comes just eight days after meeting in the regular season. While SIU registered that win and lead the all-time series overall, 47-45, the Sycamores have split the four meetings all-time in MVC Tournament play.
This will mark the first time Indiana State and Southern Illinois will meet in the MVC Tournament since the Sycamores claimed an 83-68 win in the 2011 MVC Tournament.
