MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Indiana State scored nine runs on 11 hits and took advantage of four Mississippi Valley State errors as the Sycamores coasted to a 9-1 (6 inn.) win Saturday afternoon.
The Sycamores (11-7) were slow to get the bats going and even trailed the Devilettes, 1-0, entering the third inning. But the offense started gaining traction off a season-high four stolen bases, a home run in her second consecutive day and timely hitting.
Peterson tied the game in the third with a sacrifice fly then added the Sycamores the lead in the fifth with a solo shot down the right field line.
