TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Senior Elizabeth Herron is in third place through four events of the women’s heptathlon following Day One of the 2016 Gibson Invite on Thursday.
Herron was the lone Sycamore in competition on Thursday, which featured only the men’s decathlon and women’s heptathlon. Both events will conclude on Friday afternoon, which will also feature the men’s and women’s hammer throw, javelin and 5Ks.
Herron began the day with a runner-up finish in the 100-meter hurdles, scoring 736 points with a time of 15.82 seconds. She then followed that up with a third-place finish in the high jump at 1.
