ST. LOUIS – Indiana State redshirt sophomore Dane Tofteland has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the League office announced Monday. It marks the first Player of the Week accolade for Tofteland and the third MVC weekly honor for the Sycamores this season.
Tofteland, a Grande Prairie, Alberta native is coming off his second-straight week with three home runs after hitting three during the Sycamores' series sweep of Bradley this past weekend. In the series, Tofteland hit .583 with five of his seven base hits going for extra-bases. He hit a pair of home runs in the Sycamores game two comeback against the Braves.
