ST. LOUIS – Juniors Akis Medrano and Ayanna Morgan have been named the MVC Male and Female Track Athletes of the week, the Valley announced Tuesday afternoon.

Akis Medrano put on an impressive performance in the mile run at the EIU Friday Night Special, earning another top-10 performance for the year. Medrano now owns the eighth-best time in school history after crossing the finish line at 4:07.67, good enough fifth-place among some of the nation's best.
